Activity 1

Briefing

Children appreciate and like that the teacher leads to classroom activities that stimulating their creativity. Vocabulary activity is interesting because the student works independently and can learn new words, often children are curious how to say something in English, this activity allows the teacher to give students a space to express your favorite sport, motivating him question and leave them free to create what was taught.

Lesson Plan

GRADE LEVEL: 4º ANO

SUBJECT: Sport and Activities

DURATION: 1Hour

OBJECTIVES:

  • Presentation and practice the vocabulary about sport and activities.
  • Show to Student the importance of the sport in our Life
  • Explanation and practice the Can and Can´t.

MATERIALS:

Book

Board and Chalk;

Paper;

Color pencil, eraser and pencil.

PROCEDURE:

Warm up: (15 minutes)

Before the students open the book, write the word SPORTS on the board;
Ask if they practice a sport or watch sport on TV;
Ask if they have an idol of the sport and what he does;
Children like to tell experiences so leave that many students participate and speak one at a time.

Pre-Activity: (15 minutes)

Students should open a book in the unit about sports;
Ask students to observe the illustration and show the sports which appeared in it;
Play the track 20 of the cd, pausing for the students repeat the words: (swim, play soccer, play basketball, ride a bike etc.);
Give more examples that hasn’t in the book;
Show the students that in the illustration a character can practice the sport and other can’t.
Ask students "Can you dance, Can you sing”? Orient the answer "yes I Can or no I can’t";
Explain the use of can and can’t

Activity: (15minutes)

Deliver a paper to the student and ask them to draw three or more sports they practice or would like to practice. Ask they to write the name of the sport and after everybody must present their work to class. At this moment the teacher may ask to use Can or Can not in the presentation.

Pos-Activity (15 minutes)

The students must presentation the work to class

Assessment:

This activity offers the students produce independently, stimulated the spontaneous application (according with the maturity of them) of the vocabulary since the beginning of the unit, expressing themselves orally through of draw.
